GL Smart School
As part of the GL eLearning Consultancy offerings, GL has developed a Smart School model, which provides schools with an array of ICT products, pedagogical methodologies, and a change management strategy approach, to modernize both administrative and academic services, and gradually transforms any school into a 21st century smart school. GL Virtual School
The Virtual School model is an innovative model that was first developed by GL and proposed to UNICEF as a major option for educating more than 2.5 million Syrian refugee students who are left out of school as a result of the Syrian crisis, and scattered in 6 countries.
The GL virtual school concept is based on developing an online interactive curriculum, and hosting it on the cloud, along with a sophisticated eLearning platform, which consists of a student registration system, a learning management system, an assessment management system, a learning analytics system, and a collaboration platform.
During and after COVID, many schools implemented live online sessions, without the appropriate conceptual approach and methodologies of what virtual education can look like in the 21st century. What has been implementing was simply remote teaching, i.e., bringing what has been done in the conventional classroom into a virtual meeting. With more than 20 year-experience in implementing, developing and modernizing virtual education, GL team has developed a comprehensive model of a virtual school, which implements various modes of online learning, using innovative pedagogical approach and methodologies, as disruptive technological applications, to enhance the learner's journey and experience, and ensure high quality and impact.
The developed model is flexible enough to cater for weak infrastructure, lack of training and expertise, and various issues of inequality and equity.

GL is the only company in the Arab World that has the experience of setting up and managing a full-fledged accredited virtual university. Currently, the Syrian Virtual University enrolls more than 40,000 online students. Accordingly, GL is currently discussing with various countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East to establish similar projects.
